11/05/10 Mackeral are making an appearance in the Bay being chased by the Dolphins, time to get the Mackeral Feathers out.
05/05/10 The Bream have arrived. Bream are being caught in numbers on Poole Patch with quality fish of up to 3lb being reported. Pollack are also being caught along with Wrasse and Garfish which signals the arrival of the summer species. Lets hope the weather is kind also Poole Sea Angling Centre’s Bream Comp is on Sunday May 16th.
17/08/09 Rob Burgin has caught a club record Starry Smooth Hound of 13lb 13oz from Chesil while fishing with Dave Potts, they also caught Triggers Mackerel and Pout during the session. Also from the shore Nigel Back has caught a club record Grey Mullet of 4lb 3oz. 21/09/08 On 21st September, during a Poole Dolphins SAC private members boat match Neil Glover landed a "double shot" of Trigger fish (See “Members Pictures”) 13/09/08 Poole Dolphins SAC members Sheila Carroll & Phil Dawson managed to get to sea twice during their recent 2 weeks holiday. On 8th September, whilst fishing from their own boat just off Boscombe Pier Phil landed one of the smallest skate you will see caught on rod & line. (See “Members Pictures”) The 13th September found them in Swanage Bay having much better luck catching 8 bass in total. 4 weighed over 6lb, 2 just over 3lb and two fine fish of 8lb 6oz and 8lb 13oz (See “Members Pictures”) Two were kept, the rest released alive. Also on 13th September, Poole Dolphins SAC were holding an evening shore match from Taddiford beach. It was a beautiful still evening with a full moon, ideal for Sole fishing, and Dave Potts came up tops with a fine Sole of 1lb 7oz some small Bass, Pout and a Small Eyed ray.
